Detailed Logs :
Using a diffraction grating and the CMOS sensor, we aim to make a spectrometer to study the spectrum of bright celestial objects, such as stars and binaries. This would be an attachment/extension and would be mounted to NISER Astronomy Club’s 11-inch Cassegrain-Schmidt Reflecting Telescope (CPC Deluxe 1100 HD Computerized Telescope).
The first half of the semester will be dedicated to calibrating and manufacturing the spectrometer that can be mounted on the telescope. The second half of the semester will be used to collect spectrum data using the 11-inch telescope and analyze it.
